How It's Done
We clip a small transmitter to a lanyard which is paired to the attendee.
As the attendee walks around, the signal transmitted from their wearable is picked up by temporarily placed wireless receivers around the event space. The closest receiver to the attendee picks up the signal, and that receiver's location is recorded as the attendee's location.
This all happens in a split second.

The Tech
Wearable "Tag"
Attaches to an attendee's lanyard and polls nearby beacons once a minute. Powered by a coin cell battery, the tag is good for multi-day events lasting up to fifteen days. A tag is paired to a badge.
Temporary "Beacon"
Using technology similar to Bluetooth, numerous beacons are positioned around the event space. These beacons connect to each other to create a "mesh" network, receiving polls from tags.
Central "Gateway"
Via the mesh network created by the beacons, all the tag data received runs back to the gateway and is sent to the cloud-based server for realtime location data on any and every attendee in the event space.
